It’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a cause that’s close to my heart. Both my mom and aunt conquered breast cancer. Breast cancer stats say 1 in 8 women in the U.S. will be impacted by invasive breast cancer at some point in their life. It’s something that’s impacted so many women – either themselves or because of others they know. This month, here are some special things companies are doing and selling to help drive awareness of and raise money for this important cause.
Rothy’s is doing a promotion that’s just for women who are currently battling or have defeated breast cancer. If you purchase shoes from their special collection (listed separately here or denoted by a ribbon throughout the site) you can gift a free pair of one of their two special edition shoes to either a woman currently fighting or one who’s successfully conquered. Love love this! Bonus, first click here and you can get $20 off your first pair on top of this great promo.
Like they usually do, Lilly Pulitzer has a new special print for the month, with proceeds going to the cause. This time it’s called “Pinking Positive”. Lilly Pulitzer donated $22,000 directly to BCRF and released this special edition print for consumers to share with others to let them know they’re thinking of them – or, as I’ve done myself before, show remember those around them that have already fought this fight over the years.
Macy’s has a special collection available on their website with products by designers like Polo Ralph Lauren, IT Cosmetics, Ideology, Bali, Movado, Samsonite and DKNY. Digging the Samsonite pink luggage!
Similarly, Rue la la has a special “Power of Pink” shop with a portion of proceeds going to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Brands include J. Crew, Rachel Zoe and Theory all the way up to Burberry, Prabal Gurung and Oscar de la Renta.
Felix Gray is offering a special set of lenses for the month (“pink lemonade”) that are blue light filter as well! 10% of the purchase price in the month of October will go to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
