Creative Mornings with Adam Rubin + Instagrammable coffee at Ariston

May 14, 2024 by Lara Leave a Comment

It’s pretty rare that I get out for events these days but when I saw Adam Rubin (author of Dragons Love Tacos, and other books!) would be at the Creative Mornings New York May event, I had to go.

Even though I knew they would have coffee there at Creative Mornings, I had to stop for coffee en route. Just, you know, in case? I stumbled my way into Ariston Flowers & Café, which I didn’t realize when I walked in is an Instagram fave for its glorious beautiful flowers all around and equally Instagrammable coffee — both the drink and the beautifully decorated cup.

It was a wonderful warm and colorful surprise on a dreary Friday! I tried not to be too obnoxious but couldn’t resist taking a moment to capture the space, especially since it was still early and not at all crowded.

I would love to come back again — and maybe next time, take home some of these gorgeous flowers!

Adam Rubin stands onstage in the middle of several people at May’s Creative Morning New York event — a sharp knife precariously dangling overhead.

May’s Creative Mornings’ theme was “spicy” and Adam definitely brought it. I didn’t realize he’s also a partner at Art of Play and has a fascination with magic, all which came into play in his discussion at Creative Mornings. Read more on the discussion and watch the replay here.

The only difference between the ordinary and the extraordinary is perspective.
