driveway gourmet with wonder

April 23, 2022 by Lara Leave a Comment

When the team from the Wonder app reached out with an opportunity to try the service out right as it opened up in our area of New Jersey, I said yes without hesitation. A new food option that comes to our house? What’s there not to love?

I started looking into their restaurant options and the problem really became choosing what we would try first! They have regular area restaurants on there available for delivery but what really caught our eye were their “Wonder” restaurants, which aren’t otherwise available in the area. T loves sushi and we can’t really find anything around here that’s good enough. Blame NYC for spoiling us! We decided to make it a date night, complete with fresh sushi from Daisuke Nakazawa’s Bar Nakazawa.

We started with the smoked edamame, which was amazing. Highly recommend. I also really liked their spicy yellowtail roll and soft shell crab roll.

After our first meal, a brochure showed up in the mail and it became one of our daughter’s favorite “stories” to read! We decided to try Pennycress by Seamus Mullen. We loved that the menu had fresh options, like zoodles and fish, like a coconut curry black bass. We ordered the red snapper, which had tons of flavor. The spicy brussels sprouts with bacon were another fave — as was the confetti cookie from Milk Bar we added in for dessert!

Last weekend, we tried Barrio Café. Order early and you can opt in for the ”Barrio Special” — which includes two margaritas, two taco sets (three tacos in each set), guacamole and chips. The special is available until 5pm — or as long as supplies last. I recommend the shrimp tacos!

Next time I want to try food from a NYC fave of ours – Frankie’s! Have you tried Wonder yet? If not, click here to download the app and get started.

Disclosure: I was given a credit to try Wonder for the first time. The repeat visits since we liked it so much have been on my dime!
