it’s fall, y’all

September 22, 2021 by Lara Leave a Comment

I’ve been fighting this moment with every ounce of energy I’ve got (which right now TBH isn’t much) but we are finally here — the first day of fall. The weather feels mostly cooler and those leaves are starting to do their annual dance as they prepare to blanket our backyard into a massive, crunchy mess. I have to concede I do love a lot about fall — from all things apple and pumpkin to tall boots to clothing in shades of oranges, yellows and browns.

To kick off the season, I wanted to share some of my favorites from over the years here on the blog on all things fall.

  • Homemade apple butter
  • Pumpkin chili and cornbread
  • Planning a fall themed birthday

Of course, October every year marks the anniversary of this blog. More on that later, but here’s a fun look back at 10 observations on living in NYC I shared back in 2015.

There are some other fun milestones and memories I’ve shared in falls of years past.

  • I shared this letter to Q on his first birthday.
  • It was also this time of year that we shared L was on her way.
  • It was also during the fall I got a very small, very personal tattoo with JonBoy Valena.
  • We also made one of many of our trips to Sleep No More. Can’t wait to go back again … someday.

What do you love most about fall?
