Remember when we thought 2021 was magically going to be amazing? Yeah. That was cute. It’s been a rough month and one thing that’s helped to get me though again has been the trusty Peloton. The bike is legit amazing. Just thinking about starting your journey on your own Peloton bike? Use my discount code 26DYC2 to get yourself $100 off accessories for your purchase, like clip-in cycling shoes and weights.
I’ve found a number of things though that help to make your experience on the bike even better. Sharing some of my fave finds, below.
The Spin Tray is a must have for cycling enthusiasts. In our era of work from home, the Spin Tray makes it possible to spin while working. It’s genius! It does take a little getting used to and clearly can’t work for those meetings where you’re on camera or speaking (I mean, who can do a Zoom chat while tackling a climb?). But it’s surprising how many times it can really work. Definitely usable while plowing through that early AM email cleanup or a quick midday break.
Since reigniting my love of spin, I can’t get enough sports bras. I get so hot when I take the classes that I always end up regretting any classes I take where I’m wearing anything else. Thanks to the amazing (and dangerous) Peloton Closet Instagram account, I discovered this super cute and crazy inexpensive Running Girl one shoulder sports bra from Amazon. It’s so cute it feels like I’m getting all fancy to ride, but it provides the actual support you need to make it meet that criteria as well. It’s so much fun and comes in a bunch of different sizes.
I’m obsessed with my Little Hippo Letterboard because it lets me celebrate every milestone in reusable style. For my 100th, I had this 100 headband that I think is intended for a 100th birthday but, whatever. Worked for this too! And for 150, it was just before quarantine and I went to the Short Hills Peloton store for a ride and balloons. But what from there? I’ve learned this is a fabulous way to do that which doesn’t mean buying something I’m throwing out — and I feel pretty good about this investment. Super cute and getting lots of use already.
This is another opportunity to share my intense love for my Apple AirPods Pro, currently on sale on Amazon. These wireless headphones with the option for either transparent or noise cancelling audio have been a gamechanger – whether its for being able to focus in work meetings on snow days (so many snow days…) or to take an explicit ride without worrying about little ears. You will love these.
This Furinno end table has been a super helpful addition. It gives me a couple of additional spaces to use to store things. For longer rides (or the upcoming Pelofondo – still time to join me and the SHSM team) it will have a new additional use — holding extra water!
One of my favorite things is twinkle lights. It’s part of what bums me out every year about taking down the Christmas tree. Well, with lights by your Peloton, you can have that vibe all year long. These LED rope lights from Amazon has all sorts of options for speed and even a little remote. Love them.
Perhaps calling the Fisher Price Think & Learn Smart Cycle an accessory seems like a stretch but I beg to differ. We got Q one for Christmas and it’s been so helpful in allowing me to take classes more frequently and involve our son in the process. Win/win!
Finally, have to share some love for Nuun sport tablets. Nuun is my favorite to add into my water during my classes, or during my runs as well. It definitely gets me to drink more water with the addition of the flavor and hydrates and re-energizes me much more than plain water.
Anything else you’ve found that’s improved your ride? Drop them in the comments!
