We’re hours away from kicking off the last summer weekend of 2015 – and in NYC, it looks like the weather is fully supportive of us doing this in style. High five!
Don’t have your weekend fully planned out? Don’t worry. There’s still tons of things to make arrangements to include into the next couple of days to keep you busy. Wine Riot NYC Fall 2015 on tap for this weekend. Vendors for this year include Dos Toros, Brooklyn Oyster Party, Luke’s Lobster, Tipsy Scoop, Jam Jar, MELT, and Gotham Cookies. Tickets are available for Friday night as well as two waves on Saturday, one during the day and one evening.
Watermark Bar and Hofbrau, Radeberger and Weihenstephan are coming together to host a free Oktoberfest celebration every weekend from Friday, September 18th to Sunday, October 4th. Fare you’ll find there is rumored to include strudel, pretzels, sausages, and (of course) sauerkraut. Tickets are available here.
This weekend is the 2015 NYC Pizza Run, which is the East Village’s awesome mash-up of 2 mile run with 3 solid slices. As of now, tickets are officially sold out – but you can choose to opt in for the wait list to see if a slot happens to open up.
If the weather cooperates, late this Saturday morning is a perfect time to head to Brooklyn for the Kite Festival at Brooklyn Bridge Park. Kites will be flying 11 AM – 3 PM (even for sale on-site, should you not have yours handy).
For next weekend, tickets are on-sale now for the NYC Coffee Festival. The promise of 70+ exhibitors on-site doling out unlimited coffee and food tastings makes me a little twitchy from the thought of all the caffeine, but there’s also interactive workshops, brewing tutorials and talks.
For a different kind of Oktoberfest celebration, make a note on the calendar to head to one of my favorites – By Brooklyn – for their 3rd Annual Dachshund and Schnauzer Oktoberfest Party. The event is Saturday, October 3 from 3-5pm at their store (261 Smith Street / Brooklyn). Net proceeds will benefit BARC.
Whatever you’re up to this weekend, here’s hoping it’s a good one!
